The Modern Multi-Tiered News Media Structure

A media entity is assigned to a particular tier based primarily on the degree to which the public views that entity as a news source in general and as to UFO/ET material.  The emphasis is on "public" and "news."  It does not necessarily reflect the production quality, veracity or popularity of the entity. At this time the quantity of UFO/ET/Disclosure coverage is a bell curve with tiers 1 and 2 at one end; ties 6 and 7 at the other; and tiers 3, 4 and 5 belling the curve.

For example, Discovery (tier-three) is a quality television channel, but delivers documentaries and is not a defined news entity.  It brings much UFO/ET information to the public, but that information is not going to carry the same degree of credibility and urgency as a front-page article in the New York Times (tier-one).   Tabloid newspapers are held in low regard, yet they do bring information into the arena of public discourse.  Therefore, they are part of the structure at tiers 5, 6 and 7.

This chart is a work in progress.  It does not lend itself to an empirical methodology and is the subjective interpretation of the author.  Input and suggestions are welcome.
