Senator John Kerry
Presidential Candidate
901 15th Street, NW, Suite 700
Washington, DC 20005
Dear Senator Kerry:
Paradigm
Research Group invites you to give a keynote speech at the X-Conference,
Saturday, April 17, 2004, at the Hilton Washington, DC North,
Gaithersburg, Maryland. The context of this invitation is unusual and
important.
Recent
national polls by Time, CNN, Reuters and others have consistently shown
over
80% of the American people indicate their government is lying to them
regarding suspected extraterrestrial-related phenomena and 50% believe
extraterrestrial craft are the reason for worldwide sightings. Any
other major issue with these numbers would incite a firestorm of media
attention and institutional investigation.
For too
long candidates for the office of president have been unable or
unwilling to speak to this issue or treat questions from the public on
this matter seriously. The polling numbers clearly indicate this must
not continue. Trust in government, at an historical low, is being
severely damaged by the absence of honest, intelligent engagement of
this issue by candidates and elected officials.
The
X-Conference is a major event being held in the Washington, DC metro
area which offers a perfect opportunity for you to address this issue to
a large contingent of very interest citizens. Your views on secrecy
abuse/reform, the last issue engaged by the late Senator Patrick
Moynihan, would also be welcome.
I am aware
of the political risks concomitant with this suggestion and would
welcome the opportunity to demonstrate why these risks are outweighed by
the benefits to you, your constituents and the nation.
