Hi I signed into the whitehouse website today and renewed my password, I got to your new disclosure petition and the “sign the petition” button has been deactivated so I could not sign the petition. I gather lots of people had similar problems with the last petition ? why don’t you go public to the press about the difficulties there have been in signing these petitions, it is pretty obvious something is going on ? it might have the additional benefit of alerting the public to this petition and force closer scrutiny on those running this part of the website. It’s so bloody obvious that they don’t want this petition to get to 25,000. At this rate we are never going to get disclosure. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this situation.

It is my impression that in the early stages of this petition there was severe obstruction to signing it. It took more than several attempts before I was successful and I had about reached the point of "This isn't working - why bother" when my signature was finally processed. I am a fairly persistent person, but for folks with less time to plug away at this, they would surely have abandoned the process before success. I believe there may have been some interference with the signing of this petition.

Having trouble. A month ago I tried to set up an account, but never received the promised email. Today when I tried to set up an account again, Whitehouse.gov claimed I already had an account, and the only choice available was to click "forgot password". I changed my password, went to Whitehouse.gov and brought up the petition, I clicked on "Sign In" at the bottom, but it took me to my account information page, and there was no place on that page to sign in. Nowhere in the process did I see a different place to sign in.

I have tried and tried to sign your Petition of UFO Disclosure on the White House web site but it has been impossible. Once you sign-in (after registering ) you are shifted off the page and sent to an accounts page. Then you have to try and find the Petition again (they have no identifying numbers or even a search bar that is specific to Petitions title. You can only go through generic classifications). Then once you get to the petition the 'sign petition' link is not 'hot'. I have spent over an hour trying to sign the petition. I am not a stupid person but rather hold a Master's Degree in Communications and am quite Web savvy. Let us hope this is just a glitch today and not some kind of sabotage or ruse employed to distract petition signers from further follow-through.

I registered when this first started, my husband tried to register today, so he could also sign these and was unable to do so. It took forever to find the spot at the very bottom that said create an account.

After entering name, email, and zip code, you need to type a word, but he could not get to the spot where you type the word, or where you submit it. He has tried several times on different days to register and it will never work.

It seems like new people are likely to have problems signing the petition and give up. Perhaps it is because I have already registered and they are only allowing one person per computer to register.

I sent a comment to the www.whitehouse.gov/petitions site about this a few days ago, and again today.

I expressed my frustration by clicking on the "contact us" button on the White House site. The following paste explains it all:

I have tried FIVE times to sign the Disclosure II petition and this system has blocked it!!!!

Days ago, the page would not open for me to complete the registration form. Tonight, I returned to try again and I WAS NEVER SENT THE EMAIL PASSWORD. I tried two more times and was told my email address had already been taken.

This is COMPLETELY FRUSTRATING! I campaigned for the President and this is no way to treat anybody!!! I am a lifelong UFO researcher and have personal knowledge of this reality; I know most of the truth and much about the government cover-up. My experiences TRYING to sign this petition are raising my suspicions about the administration's continuing the cover-up.

I am also a published writer and will not hesitate to publish my experiences surrounding my attempts to sign this petition if these problems continue - or if I hear of others having similar problems. I shall also think twice about campaign support in light of these and other experiences!

I am gravely disappointed!

Do you know of others continuing to have problems trying to sign this petition? Even though I strongly support the Democratic platform, I would not hesitate to publish evidence of government obfuscation of this petition process.

Hi Steve,

Trying to but it doesn't seem to matter what search engine I use, the site just won't allow me to sign the petitions. I can't even sign in and I already have an account? I realise you know this is a problem by the comments on fb but just thought I'd flag as an ongoing issue? I will keep trying until the deadline.

I have spent over an hour trying to sign the petitions without success. Having trouble getting a password to stick, the White house site says they are working at redoing the site, they say "access denied". This is as far as I've gotten: What am I doing wrong? It's a nightmare to sign your Petition! PLEASE ADVISE!

I am COMPLETELY fed up! The paste of the email below says it all. I believe the White House is practicing obfuscation-by-maintenance to prevent the petition numbers from reaching the deadline quota.

I campaigned actively for this administration in 2008, but I've had it with them ? I think they sold us out! Their reply to the first petition could have at least been equivocal, instead of outright lies that will set a lot of people up for shock when the inevitability of disclosure soon comes to fruition. Google "UFO" on You Tube and you will see the site is full of recent, escalating sighting accounts, worldwide, yet our own government is keeping us in the dark. You cannot trust ANYBODY in government!

There's no way to sign the new petition. After much trouble of being able to sign in to my account, I finally was able to click sign and it says the petition is no longer available or has been moved. I signed out, signed back in and now the sign button is still greyed out with no way to click on it. Logged out again, now it won't let me log in anymore. I doubt I'm the only one having this problem.

Sorry to bother you again. Just wanted you to know that I signed in to the White House website, and when I clicked the Sign button on both petitions, it transferred me to a "404 Page Not Found" page.

Hi. I thought I'd let you know that i've been trying to sign the second disclosure petition for 30 minutes to no avail! I signed the first one so I have an account. I was logged in as myself and it just would not let me sign! The box you are supposed to click on to sign it would not do anything when I clicked on it. Hello,

I just tried to sign your Disclosure petition on the We The People Page of Whitehouse.gov website. I thought you might like to know of my experience. I tried to login to sign the petition. I had to reset my password, even though I had the correct password to begin with. Then I tried several times to get into the petition to sign, and the button to sign would not activate, so to speak. I have attached a screen shot to show you that even when I am signed in, it still is not letting me sign the petition. You might want to check and see if this is happening with others as well.

I just wanted to give you a "heads up" that something might be out of whack, and keeping you from getting the necessary signatures.

I went to the Whitehouse website and signed in on my acct and when I attempted to sign by clicking on the "Add your name to the petition" button, it seemed nothing happened. I even thought I forgot my password and went in and re-did it and got the same results. Is just clicking the button enough? I never saw my name come up on the petition. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi there!

Thanks so much for all your efforts. I wanted to let you know that I have been trying for many hours to sign the two petitions, and the White House website will not allow me to do so. I am signed in, but the Sign This Petition button won't turn blue, and when I press it, it doesn't do anything. Other times, after I've signed in, I get directed to a page that says Page Not Found. Maybe their site is just having problems, but I wanted you to know in case there was something more deliberate going on. :)

I can get to that page, but even though I am signed in it wants me to sign in again, and when I try to submit my email and password, I get the 404 error. Will try another browser and or another computer. I asked my entire email list to sign the petition today if possible. You need almost a thousand signatures a day every day to meet the threshold. I hope to deliver a couple of hundred.
